Hello! I'm Shannon
I'm a photographer, a grahphic designer, an equestrian, a traveler, a sister, a daughter, a girlfriend, and a friend.
A passion for horses
I've always been passionate about horses and at the age of 10 I convinced my parents that it wasn't going to go away. I began taking lessons, which evolved into leasing horses and showing 4H as well as equestrian team. The summer before my senior year of high school I bought my first horse that I shared with my sister. He was a gorgeous off the track thoroughbred who we retrained and showed 4H and open shows. This evolved into me competing in college on our IHSA team. When my first horse passed away my sophmore year of college, I continued showing with my college team as well as leasing. In that period, I had my eye on the barns newest foal, who ended up as a birthday to myself. We've taught each other lots and accomplished many milestones. We currently compete the buckskin circuit with ABRA.
A passion for photography
While my passion for horses continued to develop, my love for taking pictures developed as well. I began lugging cameras with me every trip to the barn and taking pictures of the horses in the fields as well as my friends riding. When I began competing I would bring my camera and take pictures between my classes. I kept developing my craft and learning new things. I went from point and shoot cameras to my parents DSLR camera. In college I had the ability to take a photography class while earning my Graphic Design degree. In this class I was able to learn more about the camera settings and continue to expand my knowledge.
As my passion for photography developed I began getting requests for senior sessions from family and friends. After a few more years of honing my skills, I decided to start my photography business. By starting my business I've had the ability to share my craft with others and create memories that will last a lifetime. I enjoy spending time with my clients, getting to know them (and their animals depending on the session) as well as seeing their reaction when they receive their final images.
As a horse enthusiast myself, I excell at horse photography and black background portraits. However, I have dabbled in almost everything!
